Dusk Till Dawn Poker Room

Dusk Till Dawn Poker is an online poker site and a live cardroom in Nottingham. It offers 45, 9 handed tables, a high limit VIP room and televised final tables. It is Europe's largest card room.

Norwegian Championships

What a phenomenal week it was with Dusk Till Dawn hosting its first major festival "The Norwegian Poker Championships" sponsored by Expekt.com. An 8 day poker extravaganza with tournaments and cash games galore! The Norwegian players arrived in their hundreds and included Johnny Lodden, Henning Granstad, Jan Slavik and Torstein Iversen. Dusk Till Dawn was about to hold the biggest field seen in a ranking event! First though were the side events. The first ever European ranking event was a £150 No Limit with 75 entries and was won by Lucy Rokach who received £3938. The following day saw the £300 PLO Double Chance and was won by Dave Penly for £13,125. The same night, DTD Poker's usual £50 with limited rebuys had a record field of 142 and was won by Cato Vonheim pocketing £5744. But the star of the week was, of course, the Main Event. With a £500 entry, it attracted 514 players including Mark Goodwin, Lawrence Gosney, Dave Colclough and Ian Fraser. The final comprised of 7 Norwegians, 1 Swede and 1 Brit, Ian Fraser, who finished 6th for £9700 (Ian generously donated £150 to the Tishie Yong Foundation so we'd like to thank him very much for that!). It ended heads up between Sweden's Magnus Petterson and Norway's Stig Rune Kveen - Stig had approx 3,800,000 to Magnus's 1,300,000 and blinds of 25,000 / 50,000. At the final hand, Magnus held A3s to Stig's A9s, Magnus rivered a 3 for two pair but it brought Stig the nut flush as he became the Norwegian Poker Champion winning £70,000+ and an all inclusive WSOP* package, courtesy of the event sponsors Expekt.com. As runner up, Magnus received £39,000, both phenomenal returns for a £500 buy in event.

Cash Game Heaven!

As you can imagine the number of cash games in play was staggering! Most nights, there were over 20 games in action from £1/£2 to £25/£50 in the VIP room. One £5/£10 game had over £50,000 on the table! It was fantastic to see such a vast variation of games taking place and there was genuinely something to suit every pocket!

231 Weekend

Despite the non stop action, DTD still managed to squeeze in their monthly 321 events (in a slightly different order). The £200 PLO started Saturday and became a 2 day event with 106 players, won by Thorstein Iverson. By Sunday many of the Norwegian players had left but DTD still got a record field of 194 players for the £300 Deepstack which was won by Norwegian Kristian Aksnes with no deals for £18,915. Then on Bank Holiday Monday, DTD held their first ever £100 No Limit unlimited rebuy event with 63 players and £19,700 in rebuys and add ons! The victorious player was DTD regular Dave Smith.
